CENTENNIAL MOLASSES SPICE DROPS
INGREDIENTS:
2/3 cup shortening, part
2/3 cup sugar
butter or margarine
2 eggs
2/3 cup molasses
3 cups plain flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4
teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 cup cider vinegar
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, and molasses
thoroughly. Measure flour. Blend dry ingredients; add
alternately with vinegar to batter. Mix well. Drop dough by
teaspoonfuls about 2-inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes or until no imprint remains when touched lightly.
YIELD: 5 dozen
