Chocolate Chunk Cookies

WINTER WHITE CHOCOLATE CHUNK COOKIES

INGREDIENTS:

1 package (8 squares) Baker's               3 squares Baker's unsweetened
   semi-sweet chocolate                               chocolate
1/2 cup butter or margarine                     3 eggs
1 1/4 cups sugar                                       2 teaspoons vanilla
2/3 cup all-purpose flour                       1/2 teaspoon Calumet baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt                                               1 pkg. (6 squares) Baker's premium
2 cups toasted chopped walnuts               white chocolate, coarsely chopped

Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Microwave semi-sweet chocolates and butter in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 to 3 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring halfway through heating time.  Stir until chocolate is completely melted and smooth.  Cool to room temperature.  Beat eggs and sugar with electric mixer on medium speed 5 minutes.  Beat in chocolate mixture and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt until well blended.  Stir in white chocolate chunks and walnuts.  Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls onto greased cooked sheets.  Bake 10 minutes or until cookies are slightly cracked but still moist.  Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets.  Cool completely on wire racks.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.

YIELD: Makes 1 1/2 dozen.
