For a few years our street would have an old fashioned street
block party about two weeks prior to Christmas with the road blocked
off for a few hours and several of the homes would have refreshment stands
set up for all to enjoy. It was free to the public and usually
advertised the event to mostly family, friends, etc. but I guess it got too
big too quick. I will insert pixs of some of the decor on our street
and our street still decorates but the refreshment booths and road blocked
off was discontinued last year. Hope this brings back a few memories
for those that have had to opportunity to have an old fashioned street block
party. We kept Christmas music going from dusk dark until 10ish or so
via a small amplifier and CD player. I did not reduce the resolution
on the original .jpg pixs and their full size is around 400 to 500 pixel
which is way more than you need and my bad on this one.
Since web publishing I now save the .jpg files at a much reduced resolution
for screen viewing. I will start out with the Porter home outside
decor, visitors and friends who came by. Just a sampling since we had
about 100 or more that came by. The Star of David is 10 feet from
point to point each straight member and made from EMT and
about 40 feet off the ground and the Cross in the back ground is about the
same height but it is on the lower side of the back yard and has a serious elevation drop as
well.

The following pixs of the outside yard decor, refreshment booth and home
of Pat and Johnny Hildreth...can you say awesome! Santa Claus came by
and had photos taken of the kids with him while giving him their Christmas
shopping list.
